Deleting your account and data
If you no longer need your Yapper account, you can request permanent deletion of your account and all associated workspace data.
Request account deletion
To request deletion, you must be the workspace owner:
- Go to Admin > Billing in your dashboard.
- Select the option to delete your account.
- Confirm your request by completing the confirmation fields.
Once submitted, the deletion request is locked and scheduled for processing.
Deletion timeline
Deletion requests are processed on a daily schedule:
- Active systems: Your request is accepted immediately, and your data is removed from active systems by a scheduled process within roughly 24 hours.
- Backups: Backup copies of your data are retained temporarily in system backups for safety. These backups automatically expire and age out over their configured recovery windows.
What gets deleted
When the daily deletion process runs, the following data is permanently removed:
- Billing subscriptions: Any active subscriptions are cancelled immediately.
- Conversations: All customer conversation history and messaging data.
- Customers: All customer contact records and address book profiles.
- Senders: All connected messaging senders.
- Team members: All team member accounts and login credentials.
- Files: All uploaded files and media stored in your workspace.
Once this process completes, the deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Yapper retains only a secure, anonymized cryptographic hash of your email address for suppression purposes (which does not contain any plaintext personal information).
