Billing, credits, and auto-recharge
You can manage all billing settings, credit balances, and usage statistics directly from the dashboard under Admin → Billing.
Yapper Subscription
Yapper has a simple subscription model for accessing the service.
- Flat-Rate Plan: Yapper charges a flat rate of $40 per month.
- Free Trial: Your first 30 days are free, and no credit card is required to sign up. If the trial ends and you have not added a payment method, Yapper pauses your assistant, but your configuration and history remain saved.
- Unlimited Access: The subscription includes unlimited team members, unlimited connected senders (such as WhatsApp, Instagram, or Facebook Messenger), and unlimited customers and messages.
- Secure Checkout: Starting a subscription opens a secure checkout overlay directly in the dashboard. Payments are processed securely by Paddle, our merchant of record.
- Invoices and Payment Details: Click the Manage Invoices button to open the billing customer portal in a new tab. In the portal, you can update your credit card details, change billing information (such as your business name and tax ID), and download past invoices.
- Cancellation and Resuming: You can cancel your subscription at any time. When you cancel, the subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period. You can also resume your subscription at any time before the period ends.
Prepaid Credits
In addition to the subscription, if your account is configured for centralized usage billing, your assistant's responses consume prepaid credits.
- Prepaid Balance: You buy credits in advance, and the cost of the AI usage generated by your assistant is deducted from your balance in real time.
- Manual Top-Ups: You can manually add credits to your balance by clicking the top-up button, which opens a secure checkout window.
- Auto-Recharge: To prevent your assistant from running out of credits, you can configure auto-recharge settings to automatically buy credits when your balance runs low.
- Threshold: The balance level that triggers an automatic recharge.
- Top-Up Amount: The amount charged to your payment method and added to your balance when the threshold is crossed.
- Rules: The top-up amount must be at least $50. The threshold must be set to at least the top-up amount.
Note: If your account uses your own API keys (bring-your-own-key), you are not billed for credit usage. The prepaid balance and auto-recharge settings are hidden in this case.
Usage and Costs
You can monitor how much your assistant is costing you during the current cycle.
- Usage Breakdown: The Billing tab displays the current usage period along with a visual breakdown of costs across three tiers (Low, Mid, and High).
- Estimates: The costs shown represent an estimate for the current open billing cycle, not a final invoice.
- Informational Mode: If your account is bring-your-own-key, this breakdown is shown purely for informational purposes and you will not be billed.
Failed Payments and Warnings
If an auto-recharge payment or a subscription renewal fails, or your balance drops too low, Yapper notifies you to avoid service interruptions.
- Exhausted Balance: If your prepaid balance runs out completely, AI replies are paused. Your assistant will stop replying to customers until you add credits.
- Low Balance Warning: If your balance drops below your auto-recharge threshold and a recharge cannot go through (or is pending), a warning banner is shown in your dashboard to prompt you to check your payment method or add credits manually.
- Payment Failure Notifications: If a subscription renewal fails or a recharge payment is declined, workspace owners and admins are notified immediately (see escalations-and-notifications).
Deleting Your Account
If you need to close your account and delete your data, you can queue an asynchronous account deletion from the dashboard.
- Go to Admin → Billing and click Delete Account.
- Type your account ID and then the word
DELETEwhen prompted to confirm the deletion. - Once confirmed, the deletion request is queued for processing and you will be logged out of Yapper immediately.
- Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All of your connected senders, team members, customers, and conversation histories are permanently deleted.
