Maintenance windows
Rarely, Yapper pauses processing briefly to perform system maintenance. These maintenance windows are typically very short, lasting only a few minutes.
What happens during maintenance
During a maintenance window, the following behavior occurs:
- Dashboard access: The dashboard is temporarily unavailable. You will not be able to view or edit any pages, including the Inbox, Playbooks, or Templates.
- Assistant replies: The assistant pauses replies. Any messages sent by customers during this time are buffered by the messaging networks (such as WhatsApp or Instagram) and will be delivered and processed as soon as the maintenance window ends. No customer messages are lost.
Limitations and exceptions
There are a few temporary exceptions that occur if their scheduled times fall directly within the maintenance window:
- Individual scheduled messages: If you have scheduled an individual follow-up message to send during the maintenance window, it will not be sent. However, scheduled follow-up batches (messages scheduled to send to multiple customers at once) are unaffected and will send once the maintenance window ends.
- Inactivity phase transitions: If a customer conversation is set to change phases automatically after they have been inactive for a certain period, and that inactivity timer expires during the maintenance window, the transition will not trigger. The transition will only resolve if the customer sends another message after the maintenance window.
Once maintenance is complete, all services resume automatically. If your sender is still not replying after a window has closed, see sender-not-replying.
